The Isle of Whithorn
The plans for the Hamefairin’ are almost complete. Many old friends are returning and some new ones. Amongst the food stalls you will find, Galloway Chillies, Galloway Smokehouse, Olives & Thingz, Westnewton Artisan Charcuterie, and our ever faithful Sulwath Brewery to name but a few.. Steven Cronnie will bring various meats and will also man the BBQ.
There will be a large variety of crafts including Brackland Pottery (here for the 16th. year), Stuffit, Ollie cards, Puffinpatchworks, bespoke glassware, woodcrafts and jewellery. There will be a home produce stall, a bottle stall and a fabulous raffle
Saint Ninian’s Tearoom will be doing lunches, teas, coffees and cool drinks.
The Shop will be selling crafts and cool drinks, also groceries.
The Conference Room will hold a Heritage Exhibition and film made by the youth Group.
Fingers crossed for sunny weather and big crowds.
Isle Futures wish to thank everyone who supported this year’s Hamefairin’.
The generous sponsorship from our local businesses is invaluable, without their support, we simply could not stage this event year on year.
Thank you to all the volunteers who set up the market stalls (and took them down again!), Several then moved to traffic duty. To all who manned our stalls and to everyone who donated bottles, raffle prizes and wonderful baking.
Thank you to Saint Ninian’s staff, to Jackie (Business co-ordinator) and the two Trustees who helped out when it was very busy. The staff in the shop did an excellent job.
There were a steady stream of visitors, tho’ numbers were a little down on last year. This was partly due to the indifferent weather, but more likely to a certain Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton and all the other sports on TV!
The Stallholders were happy with their day, several have already asked for a stall next year!
Isle Futures Produce stall 183-00,
Bottle stall £183-00
Fingers crossed for a bright sunny day in 2017
